Billing and Refunds

This policy explains how paying for Mixer works: credits, pricing, expiry, and refunds. It forms part of, and uses the same defined terms as, our Terms of Service.

1. Credits

You pay for generations using credits in your wallet. You buy credits in advance, and each paid generation draws down your balance. We show you the cost before you confirm a generation, so you can see what you are spending.

Credits are a prepayment for use of the Service. To be clear about what they are:

  • credits are not legal tender or currency, and have no cash value;
  • credits are not a bank account, e-money, a digital wallet, a stored-value account, or any other payment device;
  • credits are not redeemable, refundable, or exchangeable for money, except where required by law or as set out in this policy;
  • credits can be used only to access the Service, and cannot be sold, transferred, or given to anyone else.

2. Paid credits and promotional credits

  • Paid credits are the credits you buy.
  • Promotional credits are credits we may give you for free, for example as a welcome bonus. Promotional credits may have their own conditions and expiry, are spent before your paid credits, and are never refundable or exchangeable for money.

3. Pricing

The price of each generation depends on the AI model and settings you use, and is shown in the Service. We may change prices, but a change will not affect credits you have already spent. Prices are inclusive of any taxes we are required to charge unless stated otherwise.

4. Expiry

Paid credits expire 12 months after the date you buy them if they are still unused, unless we tell you otherwise at the time of purchase. Promotional credits expire as stated when they are given to you. We may remind you before credits expire, but it is your responsibility to use them in time. Expiry does not affect any right you have that cannot be excluded by law.

5. Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. By buying credits you authorise us, through Stripe, to charge your chosen payment method for the amount shown. You are responsible for keeping your payment details up to date.

6. Automatic top-up

If you turn on automatic top-up, you authorise us to buy more credits for you, using your saved payment method, when your balance falls below the threshold you set, up to the limits you choose. We will show you these settings, and you can change or turn off automatic top-up at any time in your account.

7. Your right to cancel, and why credits are non-refundable once supplied

If you are a consumer, you normally have a legal right to cancel a purchase within 14 days. Credits let you use the Service straight away, which is a supply of digital content and services.

When you buy credits, you ask us to make the Service available to you immediately, and you acknowledge that by doing so you lose your 14-day right to cancel for the credits once you start using them. We record your consent and confirm your purchase to you. This is why used credits are not refundable.

If you have bought credits but have not yet used any of them, and you are within 14 days of purchase, you can still cancel that purchase and we will refund the unused amount. Contact billing@mixer.app.

8. Refunds

Beyond the cancellation right above:

  • We do not generally refund credits once they have been spent on a generation, because the service has been provided.
  • If a generation fails because of a fault on our side, we will restore or refund the credits for that generation.
  • Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights. If the Service or a generation is not as described, is not of satisfactory quality, or is not fit for a purpose you told us about, you may be entitled to a repeat performance, a price reduction, or a refund under the law that applies to you, and we will honour those rights.

If you think you are entitled to a refund, contact billing@mixer.app and tell us what happened. We aim to respond within a few working days.

9. Chargebacks

If you think a charge is wrong, please contact us first so we can help. Starting a chargeback without contacting us may lead us to suspend your account while we investigate.

10. Closing your account

If you close your account, any remaining credits are forfeited, except where the law requires us to refund an unused balance. See section 7 for the cancellation right on unused, recently purchased credits.
